HoneyComm Wi-Fi Module HCR88AN is based on mediatek chipset MT7688, And the chipset MT7688AN integrates 1T1R 802.11 b/g/n wireless transmission function, adopts MIPS®24KEc™/580MHz central processing unit (CPU), 5-port high-speed Ethernet switch Or a single-port SuperSpeed ​​Ethernet PHY, as well as a USB 2.0 host controller, PCIe, SD-XC, I2S/PCM, and a variety of I/O-loaded device interfaces for slow speeds. MT7688 has dual operation modes, among which MT7688K has built-in 8MB memory, which can provide industrial electronic TurnKey mode for mini routers, signal repeaters, IoT gateways, storage, audio applications, etc. This chip can be expanded with a set of 802.11ac chipsets to build an 802.11ac dual-band wireless IoT gateway. The MT7688A provides IoT device mode, which supports more peripheral interfaces: including eMMC, SD-XC, SPI slave, 3 UART ports, PWM and more GPIO. Various devices and bridges equipped with MT7688A have passed the certification of Apple's smart home platform HomeKit extension technology.

The router wifi board HCR88AN support OpenWRT and Linux operating system. Generally, Linux is as default and openWRT SDK are available.
